CSR

The Zest Group is an expanding company and we are currently in the process of implementing and educating/training our employees on our vision, values and policies as well as our external communication to suppliers and clients. We have broken down our CSR into 4 main categories highlighted below with statements associated:

Charity

We have a bi-annual charity policy and our chosen charity at present is The Prostate Cancer Charity. Staff members have been involved in fundraising activities including pub crawling, street collections and summiting Kilimanjaro. We also aim to work with any charitable budget within reason for their events.

Employees - Local Strong

It is within our vision to employ locally. We are proud to say that 80% of our workforce lives within a 10 mile radius of their base of work. We encourage training and development to further our staff and at present have 50% of our full time work force studying and training. Our management team is well trained and experienced in corporate hospitality and special events and all our staff pay special attention to our clients’ requirements and their guests.

Environment - Sustainability

We are conscious to decrease our carbon footprint and pay a premium to our suppliers to reduce packaging on all our deliveries. We work at various locations around the UK and employ teams located near to the venue to reduce our carbon emissions. We operate seasonal menus recognising the impact on the sustainability of the environment of produce which is out of season.

We trade in an ethical and fair manner both in terms of our supply chain (in terms of labour or product) and our decision making processes and election of choices in purchasing, pricing and adding value for our customers.

Suppliers – Source Local

We endeavour to build lasting relationships with suppliers and the majority of our produce is from local suppliers and farms. Our policy is to take advantage of locally grown produce to maximise taste and support the UK cottage and farming industry as much as possible. We buy at competitive prices giving suppliers a fair return and our customers first class products at value for money. We ask for most product updates to be sent via email rather than hard copy. All our food is sourced from reputable sources.

Our aim is to supply all our UK sourced meat to Farm Assured standard. This ensures that animals are reared to independently audited standards of welfare and husbandry. In addition, all our meat processors are EU licensed, have HACCP and are supplied through our nominated suppliers.
